True North GSD Rescue uses a formal application process for adopting, fostering and surrendering dogs. Please fully complete the application with as much detail as you can provide. Failure to provide us with all the requested information can delay your application.
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer organization and will be sure to check all references and information provided on the application. We may also request additional information from you. It may take a couple of weeks to complete this process. Once your application is processed, a volunteer will contact you to move to the next step, choosing the best GSD for you! Please note, your application must be fully approved to foster or adopt a rescued German Shepherd Dog with True North GSD Rescue.
All of our rescue dogs are temperamentally assessed based on our placement criteria. Only dogs that meet this criteria are accepted into True North GSD Rescue. Additionally, they will be micro chipped, have the required vaccinations and will be spay/neutered prior to being permanently placed. We will also ensure each pup is noted for any physical challenges. All will be completed prior to placing the dogs into their permanent homes to ensure the best fit for you and our rescue dogs.
Are you interested in only fostering a dog? Please apply online or send us an email and we will quickly contact you to begin the foster approval process.
All of the donations are used to rescue and treat the GSD’s we place. When needed, foster’s are assisted and/or provided dog food and medical fees during their time fostering the dogs. Donations are tax-deductible as we are an IRS designated 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Please email us if you have additional questions. A volunteer will quickly contact you to answer all of your questions.
If you are applying for a specific dog, please include this in your application. Puppies: We receive an amazing amount of applications for puppies. Sometimes we receive hundreds therefore, we will review the first 50 to ensure we find the best permanent home.
All of the information about each pup is listed under “Available Dogs.” Once your application is approved, we will contact you, review our pups and schedule a “meet and greet” with the pup to ensure this will be a good fit for both you and our rescue dogs.
