Hi, my name is Levi!

I am a 17 week old puppy recently diagnosed with Megaesophagus.

Mega-E is a condition where my esophagus (the tube that carries food and liquids to my tummy) gets larger and becomes constricted by a band across my esophagus causing a harder time moving the things I eat or drink to my stomach.

Some dogs with this condition have to sit in a Bailey Chair every time they eat and others just need to eat with an elevated surface. Currently I eat with my bowl elevated but am learning how to use a Bailey Chair in case I ever need one. I was so lucky to be donated a handmade chair! I am the only one of my brothers and sisters with this condition, but otherwise am happy, healthy, and gaining weight just like my siblings.

The good news: I am a great candidate for surgery.

This would make life WAY easier and give me the chance to be a normal pup. I’ve already been able to raise $5,000 thanks to an anonymous donor, but I still need $15,000 to cover medical expenses. Below, you’ll find out a bit more about me as well as ways you can support. This surgery would mean the world to me!

 No amount is too small.

I appreciate any and everything you can contribute to me and my upcoming surgery.

Here are a few ways you can support me!

Now, here’s more about me:

As you already know, I am a 17 week old puppy, and my mom is Zena (who is available for adoption). I am one of the fosters for True North German Shepherd Rescue, located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I absolutely love my foster brothers, sisters, and pawrents. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to type this out and share my story!

Outside of my condition, I am a totally normal puppy. I can be a bit mischievous, cuddly, and playful (and sometimes all of the above, all at once). I’m the type of guy that likes a spa day as much as rolling around in a garden bed. A true German Shepherd pup!

On that note, here are a few of my other favorite things…

Game

I love to play fetch! I’ll chase after any and all toys, but I definitely like my glow-in-the-dark ball the best.

TREAT

Paws down, my mega-e friendly BIXBI white cheddar puffs. I make a little funny face when I crunch them!

TOY

It’s really hard to choose… they’re all so great. But I prefer things ball shaped. And my older foster sister’s Benebone, since I’m teething!

ACTIVITY

When I’m not dropping in on my foster mom’s Zoom calls, I just love meeting new people and exploring new places.
